| Congratulations
to the u12 girls who finished off their campaign by
winning the league in a tight affair against
Cliffoney-Grange. The u14 and u16 girls team are still
involved in their leagues and both are in the running to
match the u12s. We wish them all in the best in their
quest for silverware. The
girls have managed to go one better than the boys who
all fell at various hurdles in the last 2 months.
However it can be seen as a fantastically sucessful and
progressive season as all 4 underage teams managed to
get to the knock out stages and were very unlucky not to
emerge with some silverware. The u12s were beaten 5-2 by
St.Johns in the quarter finals while the u16s ended
their campaign at the same stage by losing 3-0 to a
strong Merville United outfit. The u18s were well beaten
by Yeats United who went on to win the league while the
u14s were the pick of the bunch, unfortunately losing
out 1-0 to Calry Bohs despite being the better team in
the league final. We look with great hope to next year.
I personally would like to
thank the following people for their help and work
throughout the season, Paul Hynes and Terry Hayes, Jimmy
McGuinness, Sean Tansey, Padraig Creegan, Michael
Flannery and Sean Irwin for their efforts behind the
scenes, the dry cleaners, Seamus Doddy and all the
players for everything they gave.
