A horrible day in dromard saw
Ballymote beat Western Rovers by 7 goals.David Scanlon
was back for his 1st competitive match in over 3
months.The goals started early for Ballymote when
Conar McGetrick scored. Flanery and Gunning were solid
at the back.An awful day saw Ballymote go 4 up before
half-time.Rovers made 3 changes at half-time.A wise
move by the stand-in coachs Jimmy and Sean saw
Paul Kelly(injury victim)and Brendan Martin go in
early 2nd half.Kelly went on da right wing and Martin
went on left-back.Soon after Conor Tighe and Shane
Meehan came on. Great link-up play between Kelly and
Brennan on the right seen Rovers defence in bits.As
Celtic pushed forward they left gaps at the back and
Rovers capitalised on this to gain a penalty off
Brendan Martin,Thomas Kelly hit it to Ciaran Mc
Graths left and scored.A legitimate slide from Kelly
seen the ref give a free on the edge of the box.As
captain Darren Gunning moved into midfield more holes
came in Celtics defence and a mazing run saw James
Clarke score a left foot strick from outside the
box.Ballymote replied with 5 goals.A great game from
Aidan O Brian seen him score a hat-trick.

A very bad day in
lisheen seen a top of the table clash. Ballymote had
the wind in the 1st half and Jim Mc Getrick used that
advantage to score a wonder goal from the centre
circle.It looked like a game that whoever used the
wind would take the victory.Well into the 2nd half
there was a mix up between Tommy Perry and Aidan o
Brian at the back which led to a free for Ballisadre
in a dangorus area.Darragh Healy stoud up and drove
the ball into the back of Ballymotes net.The game
finished all even.
